Purpose of the Policy
This Data Retention and deletion statement explains how Titans Pet UK collects, stores, retains, and deletes user data by the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. We are committed to ensuring that personal data is only retained for as long as it is needed for its original purpose and securely deleted when no longer required.

Titans Pet UK may collect and retain the following types of user data, depending on your use of the platform:

- Residential address (for service providers/deliveries)
- Government-issued ID or verification documents (for breeders, clinics, and business accounts)

- Boost plan history or premium feature usage

- Messaging/chat history within the platform

Right to Deletion (Right to be Forgotten)
Under the UK GDPR, users can ask for the complete deletion of their data in the following ways:
- By requesting an account deletion via the app or website

- By requesting the deletion of specific listings or uploaded content
- By requesting the removal of verification documents (subject to legal allowances)
Requests will be processed within 30 days unless legal, regulatory, or contractual obligations (e.g., fraud investigations or financial reporting) require extended retention.
Auto-Deletion and Expiry Policies
- Inactive Accounts: Inactive accounts for 24 months may be archived or scheduled for deletion following prior notice.
- Expired Listings: Listings automatically expire after 180 days unless renewed by the user.
- Suspended Accounts: Data from suspended accounts will be retained for up to 12 months to allow for appeals or legal investigations.
Data Storage and Security
User data is stored on encrypted cloud servers in the UK or EU, ensuring secure storage both at rest and during transmission. Access to sensitive documents, such as IDs or breeder verification files, is restricted to authorized administrative personnel only.
Exceptions to Standard Retention Periods
We may retain data beyond our standard timeframes in the following cases:
- Where required by law, ordinance, or court ruling
- To investigate or prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents
- For legitimate accounting or auditing purposes
